Cenote

Carol Fieldhouse, after years rooted in Folk and Early Music, discovered her true musical home as a songwriter in 2008. Cenote Trio re-launched with Nigel Corbett and David Ledsam in June 2016 to open Exile Music Festival, Derbyshire. As well as her own songs Carol wrote and co-wrote songs for Graham Sellors’ WW1 play, Gorsey Bank to Gommecourt, runs a Songwriter’s circle in Derbyshire, leads a choir at an Extra Care Residential Home and has recently completed a project working with women to explore different stages of Motherhood through song for her MA. Her debut album linen was released in September 2016 and was Celtic Music radios Album of the Week.

As a musician, Nigel has performed throughout the UK and Europe with roots band Prego, and as a member of the cast of the WW1 show ‘Standing In Line’ with acclaimed singer songwriter Lester Simpson. Accompanying Carol’s voice and lyrics, the violin, guitar and bouzouki add to the emotions and story-telling of the pieces.

David is based in the East Midlands and can be heard playing cello, basses, concertinas and the occasional tuba! In another life he plays and dances with Stone Monkey Sword Dancers.
